"WIREN" Now Available on US Amazon Prime!!

Some years ago, I came across a riveting trailer for “Wiren” on YouTube.

I immediately began to scan the internet for the full movie. To my disappointment, the movie was not available in the United States.

The movie eventually went out of sight out of mind until I began to see it trend on my social media. “Wiren” was submitted to the 93rd Academy Awards (Oscars) and accepted for Best International Feature Film!

According to Waterkant, “The Suriname Selection Committee has had to adhere to the strict rules set by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Technical requirements, substantive requirements, and market-oriented requirements were the most important factors to be considered.”

“Wiren” was originally released in 2018 and only became available on Amazon Prime in America today!! I didn’t waste any time and immediately began streaming. It was more than worth the wait.

The film chronicles the struggles of Wiren, a deaf man who takes a chance on himself and others living with disabilities by challenging the Surinamese government in open court. His ultimate goal is to achieve universal equity for Surinamese citizens living with disabilities.

As much as I would like to give away the entire plot of the movie, I want you all to support the film even more. Don't worry about not understanding the film, it has English subtitles. So I encourage you to click the link below and check it out yourself.
